Real-life cases

For each complaint it receives, the Québec Ombudsman determines whether or not it can investigate. At the end of an investigation, if we see that a mistake or injustice has occurred, we make recommendations. We make them to the responsible authorities to have the situation corrected.     Curateur public: act promptly to prevent lost income

    A woman under the tutorship of the Curateur public lived in a three-unit dwelling that she owned. When she left her apartment, it took the agency two years to rent it out. Feeling that the woman had been deprived of substantial income for too long, a family member complained to the Protecteur du citoyen.
