A transgender woman filed a complaint against a hospital because some staff considered her a man.

The citizen had made it very clear that she wanted to be called and treated as a woman.

A hospital manager admitted that her staff did not always fully understand the realities of transgender persons.

After we intervened, the employees concerned received sensitivity training. Now they will be better equipped to act in a way that respects transgender persons’ rights. The hospital also took the measures needed so that best practices in that respect would be maintained.
