A person filed a complaint against Revenu Québec when it failed to correct information in his tax return.

And yet, his accountant had requested the correction.

The man said that Revenu Québec’s negligence was preventing him from getting his full tax refund.

However, Revenu Québec was not responsible for the problem. It was the accountant who had made mistakes. The man thought he had been dealing with a member of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec, but it was not the case.

We explained to the man that his accountant was not very reliable and that Revenu Québec had not made a mistake. The man received the tax refund he was eligible for.

The title "accountant" is not reserved for professional accountants. To check whether the person is a member of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec, refer to the CPA Directory.
