A citizen filed a complaint against a private seniors' residence that refused to repair a rickety ramp.

People who moved about in wheelchairs took a risk every time they tried to reach the main door. However, the owner of the residence said that repairs were unnecessary because no accident had occurred.

A visit to the residence showed that the ramp was indeed a problem. By not acting, the owner was negligent about the residents' safety.

We intervened with him and he repaired the ramp.
