A student lodged a complaint against student financial assistance (AFE), which wanted her to pay back several thousand dollars.

AFE believed that she had gotten money without actually being a student. The problem was due to a mistake by the university.

The educational institution corrected the problem, but the claim was not cancelled. For it to be, the student should have modified her application for financial assistance. Unfortunately, when AFE informed her about this procedure, it was too late to do so.

After we intervened, AFE reviewed its decision. Because the student was indeed enrolled at university, she was allowed to keep her money.
