For each disclosure or report it receives, the Québec Ombudsman determines whether or not it can investigate. At the end of an investigation, if we see that wrongdoing has occurred, we make recommendations. We make them to the responsible authorities so that the situation is corrected or the problem is denounced. Here are investigation conclusions that show how our interventions are carried out.

The Protecteur du citoyen was informed about worrisome problems with the care delivered at Montreal Children’s Hospital. It decided to intervene with McGill University Health Centre, which is responsible for the care and services provided at the hospital.
According to several reports, the safety and well-being of CIUSSS de l’Estrie – CHUS CHSLDs residents were allegedly compromised. The Protecteur du citoyen decided to intervene.
