Investigation conclusions

For each disclosure or report it receives, the Québec Ombudsman determines whether or not it can investigate. At the end of an investigation, if we see that wrongdoing has occurred, we make recommendations. We make them to the responsible authorities so that the situation is corrected or the problem is denounced. Here are investigation conclusions that show how our interventions are carried out.

    Intervention at Hôpital de Granby

    The Protecteur du citoyen received a report about Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux (CIUSSS) de l’Estrie. Seemingly, the supervision of people with symptoms of dementia at Hôpital de Granby, which reports to the CIUSSS, was inadequate. The Protecteur du citoyen decided to intervene.

    Shortstaffing at CLSC Naskapi

    The Protecteur du citoyen received a report about CLSC Naskapi, located near Schefferville. Staff shortages had allegedly caused service ruptures. The supervision of the staff was also at issue. The Protecteur du citoyen decided to intervene.

    Intervention with McGill University Health Centre

    The Protecteur du citoyen was informed about worrisome problems with the care delivered at Montreal Children’s Hospital. It decided to intervene with McGill University Health Centre, which is responsible for the care and services provided at the hospital.
