Reaction to Bill 3
On February 7, 2023, Ombudsperson Marc-André Dowd commented on Bill 3, Act respecting health and social services information and amending various legislative provisions before the Committee on Public Finances.
The Québec Ombudsman analyzes bills before they are voted on at the National Assembly of Québec. The same applies to draft regulations before they are passed by the government.

In a letter to the Minister of Public Security, Ombudsperson Marc-André Dowd commented on the draft Regulation respecting the financial assistance that may be granted to members of a deceased person’s family to cover expenses incurred for legal assistance and representation during certain inquests by a coroner.
In a letter to the Minster responsible for Seniors and Informal Caregivers, Ombudsperson Marc-André Dowd commented on the draft Regulation to amend the Regulation respecting the certification of private seniors’ residences.

In a letter sent to the Public Curator on November 26, 2021, the Québec Ombudsperson commented on the draft Regulation to amend the Regulation respecting the application of the Public Curator Act.
On November 25, 2021, the Québec Ombudsperson sent the Committee on Citizen Relations a brief on Bill 1 – Act to amend the Educational Childcare Act to improve access to the educational childcare services network and complete its development.
