    The Québec Ombudsman received a report denouncing the abolition of the position of night reception and registration clerk at the emergency room at Hôpital et centre d'hébergement de Sept-Îles.

    The Québec Ombudsman conducted an investigation into allegations of quotas on incontinence briefs in residential and long-term care centres (CHSLDs).

    The Québec Ombudsman received a report denouncing deficiencies in the care and services offered to Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux de la Gaspésie users. The investigation it conducted concerned residential and long-term care centres as well as hospitals and CLSCs in the region.

    The Québec Ombudsman received a report denouncing numerous problems experienced by the users of Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux de la Capitale-Nationale (CIUSSS-CN) lodged in a private boarding house. Several of the users were represented by the Curateur public.

    Situations of violation of users' rights and of deficient service and care quality at Institut universitaire en santé mentale de Montréal were reported to the Québec Ombudsman.

    The Québec Ombudsman received a report concerning violation of the rights of users hospitalized on units 4C and 4D of Centre hospitalier régional de Lanaudière.

    Within the context of an investigation concerning Institut Philippe-Pinel de Montréal, on its own initiative the Québec Ombudsman examined the question of locking the doors of patients’ rooms at night.

    The Québec Ombudsman received a request for its opinion from the users’ committee at Centre de santé et des services sociaux de La Côte-de-Gaspé concerning the committee’s independence and operational autonomy.

    The Québec Ombudsman received reports of major deficiencies in the quality of the care and services provided to the residents of Centre d’hébergement Harricana, in Abitibi-Témiscamingue.

  10. June 9 2014

    The Québec Ombudsman concludes that MUHC’s admission of a Kuwaiti foreign national for healthcare in December 2011 occurred outside normal channels and without government supervision.
