The Québec Ombudsman is called on to give its opinion and make recommendations on bills before they are voted on in the National Assembly of Québec and on draft regulations before their passage by the government.
The Québec Ombudsman subscribes to the draft Regulation to amend the Regulation respecting the reimbursement of certain expenses to accident victims. However, it issued a recommendation in order to prevent any potential risk of gradual and implicit devaluation of citizens’ coverage.
The Québec Ombudsman presented a brief to the Committee on Institutions concerning Bill 98, an Act to amend various legislation mainly with respect to admission to professions and the governance of the professional system.
The Québec Ombudsman endorses the draft regulation under which the care provided by psychotherapists will henceforth be included in the services covered in cases of industrial accidents and occupational diseases.
The Québec Ombudsman presented a brief to the Committee on Health and Social Services concerning Bill 92, an Act to extend the powers of the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec and to amend various legislative provisions.
The Québec Ombudsman conveyed its comments to the Committee on Culture and Education concerning Bill 86, An Act to modify the organization of school boards to give schools a greater say in decision-making and ensure parents’ presence within each school board’s decision-making body.
