Frequently Asked Questions

Make a complaint

Corps

Yes. This is called making a report to the Protecteur du citoyen. You can call in the report or use our complaint form.

Unless you want feedback from us, you do not have to provide any personal information.

Corps

No. Banking institutions have their own ombudsmen. You must send your complaint to them. See the website of the bank in question for the contact information about the ombudsman.

If your situation has not been resolved after this step, contact the Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments.

If your complaint concerns a public fund manager, contact the Autorité des marchés financiers instead.

Denounce a reprehensible act

Corps

The name of the whistleblower is never made public. If the wrongdoing is founded, we may release the conclusions from the investigation, but only if the whistleblowers’ identity can be protected and they can be protected against reprisal.

Do you have information to disclose? Do it now

Corps

Yes. The Protecteur du citoyen may grant you financial assistance to reimburse your legal counsel costs. (This excludes legal representation costs.)

To find out whether you qualify for assistance, you must request it from the Protecteur du citoyen. We will then determine whether your situation warrants financial assistance.

As a rule, when a request is admissible, the Protecteur du citoyen authorizes assistance for three hours of legal counsel.
