Make a complaint
As soon as we receive your complaint, we acknowledge receipt by phone or in writing (email, letter or fax) within two working days.
If your complaint is admissible (in other words, if we can intervene), we begin an investigation involving all the parties concerned. Whether or not your complaint is substantiated, we inform you of our conclusions, verbally or in writing.
No. Syndics of professional orders (Barreau du Québec, Collège des Médecins, etc.) are responsible for examining complaints about their members. However, if you would like to find out more about recourse against a professional order, you can contact the Office des professions du Québec.
Denounce a reprehensible act
No. If you speak out about a wrongdoing publicly or through the media, the Act will not protect you against reprisal.
Exception – You can be protected against reprisal if these two conditions apply:
- You are in a situation that poses a serious risk to a person’s health or safety or the environment;
- And the situation is so urgent that you cannot make a disclosure to the Protecteur du citoyen or the Commission municipale du Québec.
The Protecteur du citoyen cannot process disclosures concerning the federal government.
