A man files a complaint against the Ministère de l’Environnement, de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques, de la Faune et des Parcs for refusing to grant him financial assistance under the Chauffez vert program.
The man replaced his oil heating system with a heat pump. He then applied for the Rénoclimat grant, but not the Chauffez vert grant. After reading a Ministry web page, he was under the impression that he could not receive both.
The truth is, he can. He found out more than a year after starting work on the project.
He then applied for the second grant, but it was too late.
The Protecteur du citoyen intervened. Since the source of the confusion was unclear information on the Ministry’s website, the Ministry accepted the late application. The citizen was ultimately awarded both grants.
