A person files a complaint about a hospital that did not prevent a serious loss of autonomy in an elderly woman.

For a variety of reasons, this woman was hospitalized several times over the course of a few months. With each stay, her physical and mental condition deteriorated. She went from almost complete autonomy to an entirely different reality. She began to need help for all her activities of daily living, including feeding herself.

In light of these repeat hospitalizations, the staff should have paid special attention to her health records and the progression of her condition.
Since the intervention by the Protecteur du citoyen, a critical analysis of this situation has been carried out with the care workers involved.

Furthermore, the nursing staff now has access to tools to effectively assess the cognitive condition of hospitalized clients.
