A man filed a complaint against a CHSLD for failing to provide him with important information on a relative.
The man is the legal representative of the CHSLD resident and is therefore responsible for ensuring the latter’s well-being. As such, he must be kept informed of the resident’s general state of health, living conditions, and more. However, the staff did not provide him with all the relevant information.
Thanks to the multiple efforts of the Protecteur du citoyen, a patient navigator was assigned to communicate with the legal representative. Together, they agreed on a more suitable collaboration approach in the best interests of the resident. They also agreed on a more appropriate frequency of communication.
The Protecteur du citoyen ensures that your rights are upheld in your dealings with Québec public services. Are you dissatisfied with the services of a Government of Québec department or agency? Or with those of a health and social services network institution (2nd level of recourse)? File a complaint by calling 1-800-463-5070 or using our online complaint form.
