Intervention with CHSLD Pavillon Philippe-Lapointe

The Québec Ombudsman received a report about the care offered to the residents of Pavillon Philippe-Lapointe, a residential and long-term care centre (CHSLD) located in the Laurentians. The Québec Ombudsman decided to intervene.

Findings

Even though there were good practices at Pavillon Philippe-Lapointe, the Québec Ombudsman saw sizable problems. First, the staff did not give residents all required baths. Second, oral care was neglected. Moreover:

Given the preceding, the Québec Ombudsman made three recommendations to Pavillon Philippe-Lapointe. The CHSLD accepted all of them. The Québec Ombudsman will see that they are implemented.
