Media invitation — Investigation report to improve the management of complex cases in detention facilities

Québec City, May 20, 2026 – On Wednesday, May 27, 2026, Marc-André Dowd, the Ombudsperson, will release an investigation report titled Human Tragedies Behind Bars – An Investigation to Improve the Management of Complex Cases in Detention Facilities.

The press conference will be held at 11 a.m. in Salle Evelyn-Dumas 1.30 of Édifice Pamphile-Le May (1035, rue des Parlementaires). It may be viewed online on the assnat.qc.ca website.

Journalists who are members of the Tribune de la presse (or who will have obtained Tribune de la presse credentials) may obtain the report UNDER EMBARGO at Salle Evelyn-Dumas 1.30 of Édifice Pamphile-Le May (1035, rue des Parlementaires) the same morning, between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. Tania Roussel, Deputy Ombudsperson Citizen Services, as well as the investigators, will be on hand to answer technical or comprehension questions.
