A citizen filed a complaint against the facility where he was incarcerated because he had no access to a washer nor to a dryer.

The appliances in his section had been broken for several weeks. Despite internal complaints, the detainees in this area still have no appliances to do their laundry.

Detainees have few changes of clothes. They must therefore be able to wash them easily every week, for reasons of hygiene and dignity.

The Protecteur du citoyen intervened with the detention facility, which found a solution. The people concerned now have access to a laundry service until the appliances are repaired.
