    Québec City, June 14, 2006 – Commenting on the Protecteur du citoyen’s 2005–2006 Annual Report tabled earlier at the National Assembly, the Protector, Ms.Raymonde Saint-Germain, pointed to the organization’s success in resolving 8 out of 10 substantiated cases submitted by the public in favor of those who submitted them.

    Québec City, June 14, 2006 – The Protecteur du citoyen was successful on over 80% of the substantiated complaints it received in 2005–2006, obtaining redress for citizens from the Québec government departments and agencies concerned. In all, 1,679 complaints proved to be substantiated.

    Québec City, June 14, 2006 – Since April 1, 2006, the Protecteur du citoyen has been responsible for fielding and processing last-resort complaints from the public with regard to the health and social services network. Now when users have complaints, they have easy recourse to a third party independent of the government.

    Québec, le 31 mai 2006 – En introduisant une série de dispositions législatives qui encadrent davantage et mieux la pratique des véhicules hors route, le projet de loi n° 9, Loi modifiant la Loi sur les véhicules hors route, met en place des conditions pour que soit levé le moratoire empêchant tout recours devant les tribunaux. Rappelons que celui-ci a été imposé jusqu’au 1er mai 2006, avec effet rétroactif au 16 décembre 2001.

    Montreal, April 6, 2006 – Since April 1, 2006, Le Protecteur du citoyen has had the responsibility of accepting and handling complaints with regard to the healthcare and social services network from citizens who have exhausted their other forms of recourse. It can intervene with network establishments when citizens express dissatisfaction with the services they received or feel they were treated unfairly.
