Draft Regulation to amend the Regulation respecting the contribution of users of health and social services institutions
In a letter to the Minister responsible for Seniors and Informal Caregivers, Marguerite Blais, and to the Minister of Health and Social Services, Christian Dubé, Ombudsperson Marie Rinfret commented on the draft Regulation to amend the Regulation respecting the contribution of users of health and social services institutions, the Regulation respecting the contribution of users taken in charge by family-type resources or intermediate resources, and the Regulation respecting the application of the Act respecting health services and social services for Cree Native persons.
The Ombudsperson is satisfied with certain provisions of the draft regulation. However, she feels that it is not a suitable response to her recommendations made in June 2020 in her opinion on the financial contribution of adult residents of CHSLDs. As Ms. Rinfret sees it, regulatory amendments are still needed to curb the inequalities underscored in the opinion.
As a result, the Ombudsperson reiterated two of her recommendations.
