Intervention report concerning Au Pierrot, a private seniors’ residence
The Québec Ombudsman received a report concerning the health and safety of the people living at Au Pierrot, a private seniors’ residence located in Sorel-Tracy. The residence is intended for autonomous and semi-autonomous residents with mild physical and cognitive impairments.
The report indicated failings regarding residents’ needs which exceeded the capacity of the residence’s resources, night supervision and incident-accident management.
The investigation showed that the allegations were unfounded. However, there were flaws in the operators’ entering of events in their incident-accident register and the report form. The Québec Ombudsman made a recommendation on this subject.
Further to the investigation, the residence pledged to take the measures required to rectify the situation.
